The last of my Isle of Wight pictures from October

Last weekend Nicole, Mum and I went to the second Wight Craft Circle retreat on the Isle of Wight and we had a great time! Nicole and I found our mojo and both managed to finish more than 10 layouts. I'll be posting them bit by bit.

Letztes Wochenende sind Nicole, Mama und ich zum zweiten Wight Craft Circle Retreat auf der Isle of Wight gefahren und wir hatten eine tolle Zeit! Glücklicherweise hatte der gute alte Mojo sich sowohl bei Nicole als auch bei mir blicken lassen, sodass wir beide je mehr als 10 Layouts fertig bekommen haben. Ich werde sie hier Stück für Stück posten.

I "finished off" a few photo series/vacations/events; the first bits to be done were the pictures from the first WCC retreat last October :) I think I've fallen in love with Basic Grey Origins!

Auf dem Retreat habe ich einige Fotoserien/Urlaube/Events "vollendet"; als erstes waren die übrigen Bilder vom ersten WCC Retreat im Oktober dran :) Ich glaub, ich habe mich ein wenig in die Basic Grey Origins Serie verliebt!

Ahh, my trusty scalloped circle punch - always a great help when you want to have lots of pictures on one page without overfilling the page.

Ach, mein guter alter Scallop Kreisstanzer - immer wieder ein gutes Hilfsmittel, wenn man viele Fotos auf einer Seite haben will ohne, dass es überfüllt aussieht.

Rising to the challenge

Productive Sunday for me

Today I made 2 Layouts, that's what I call a good start to the year :)

Heute habe ich 2 Layouts gemacht; das ist doch mal ein guter Anfang fürs Jahr :)

The first is yet another one from Vienna (not too many more to come now I think - maybe 5 or so?). I used a Studio Calico kit again, really have fallen in love with them now! I can't post it yet as it's part of a Scraplift Challenge.

Das erste Layout ist mal wieder eins von Wien (ich glaub, da kommen jetzt nicht mehr allzu viele - vielleicht 5 oder so?). Ich habe wieder ein Studio Calico Kit benutzt, mag die immer mehr und mehr! Ich kann es noch nicht posten, da es Teil einer Scraplift Challenge ist.

The second layout is based on a sketch by Anja as part of the regular Sunday challenge in the Paperbraut forum. It's a bit bare but I'm not sure what else to do to it, so I'll just leave it as it is.

Das zweite Layout ist auf einem Sketch von Anja basiert, den sie für die Sonntagabendchallenge im Paperbrautforum gemacht hat. Es ist ein wenig kahl, aber ich weiß nicht, was ich sonst noch machen sollte und lasse es deshalb, wie es ist.

I've been a pretty bad blogger these last few months. Nevertheless I wanted to share the layouts I made - since it's quite a few, I thought it would be easiest in a slideshow:

Cleo Crafts' second retreat

We had a great time again on Tara and Louise's (= the masterminds behind Cleo Crafts) second retreat! Accomodation and food were as lovely as last time and the company was as well! We had lots of scrapping time and we received so many goodies that we nearly didn't manage to fit it all into our luggage. Thank you!

Wir hatten wieder jede Menge Spaß auf Tara und Louises (= die kreativen Köpfe hinter dem Namen Cleo Crafts) zweitem Retreat! Die Unterkunft und das Essen waren wieder so wunderbar wie beim letzten Mal und die Gesellschaft war auch toll! Wir hatten jede Menge Zeit zum Scrappen und haben so viele schöne Sachen bekommen, dass wir es fast nicht unterbekommen hätten in unserem Gepäck. Danke!

I struggled a bit with my layouts as I was quite stressed from work and a reorganization/decorating project at home. I spent many hours just staring at my pictures and papers without knowing what to do. I also didn't really have the right photos for the material that we had taken with us.

Ich hab ein wenig kämpfen müssen mit meinen Layouts, weil ich von der Arbeit und einem Umorganisations-/Umbauprojekt zuhause ziemlich gestresst war. Ich habe einige Stunden damit verbracht, meine Bilder und Papiere anzustarren, ohne zu wissen, was ich damit tun soll. Außerdem hatte ich auch nicht unbedingt die richtigen Fotos dabei für das Material, was wir eingepackt hatten.

Nevertheless I managed to scrap quite a few picutres from our Isle of Wight retreat. I love the colours in this first one!

Trotzdem habe ich einige Bilder von unserem Isle of Wight Retreat scrappen können. Ich liebe die Farben auf diesem hier!

Hier könnt ihr ein paar von den Leutchen sehen, die auf dem Retreat waren - eine wunderbare Gruppe an Mädels :)

On the Saturday of the IoW retreat, we went for a little walk and took some pictures - as you can see we had lots of fun. This was my most difficult layout, I did something for 5 minutes, then stared at it for half an hour or hour, did something for 5 minutes, then stared again. Strange...

An dem Samstag von unserem IoW Retreat haben wir einen Spaziergang gemacht und dabei viele Fotogelegenheiten genutzt - wie man sehen kann, hatten wir eine Menge Spaß dabei. Das war das schwierigste Layout: Ich hab etwas für 5 Minuten oder so gemacht, dann eine halbe Stunde oder Stunde vor mich hergestarrt, dann was für 5 Minuten gemacht, dann wieder gestarrt. Merkwürdig...
This is Mum, Nicole and me 'posing' in The Needles close to Alum Bay. The pictures were begging to be scrapped! This layout and the three previous ones were all scrapped with our Studio Calico kits.

Mama, Nicole und ich beim 'Posieren' in den Needles in der Nähe von Alum Bay. Diese Bilder mussten einfach gescrappt werden! Dieses Layout sowie die drei vorhergehenden sind alle aus unseren Studio Calico Kits entstanden.

I previously mentioned my "thing" about dotted swiss cardstock. Well, I think my love for kraft cardstock is even bigger than that. It's so versatile! This layout was quite a fast one; I kept to my new tradition of scrapping one layout in the morning of our departure, leaving just minutes to spare to pack :)

Ich hab ja schon mal meine "Leidenschaft" für Dotted Swiss Cardstock angesprochen. Naja, ich glaube, dass meine Liebe für Kraft Cardstock noch größer ist. Er ist so vielseitig! Dieses Layout war ein richtig schnelles; ich habe meine neue Tradition aufrecht erhalten, indem ich am Abreisemorgen noch ein Layout gemacht habe und grade mal Minuten zum Packen übrig gelassen habe :)

I also finished a couple of pages for my Vienna album. Sorry for the bad picture, this is the best I could do with the current light outside. I had planned this to be quite different from what it looks like now. The plan was to add lots and lots of machine sewing - but the machine didn't like me, so I ended up removing all threads and just drawing the stitches.

Ich habe auch noch zwei Seiten für mein Wienalbum gemacht. Das Bild ist nicht so berauschend, aber ich hab es bei den momentanen Lichtverhältnissen nicht besser hinbekommen. Ursprünglich sollte das Layout ganz anders aussehen. Ich wollte ganz viel Machinenstickerei benutzen - leider mochte mich die Machine nicht, weshalb ich letztendlich alle Fäden wieder rausgerupft habe und dann mit meinem Stift "genäht" habe.

It's a bit strange to make a layout of coffins, I know. These are no ordinary coffins, though (no, that doesn't make it better); it's the last resting place for the bodies of the Austrian Emperial Habsburg family.

Ich weiß, es ist ein wenig merkwürdig, ein Layout über Särge zu machen. Aber es sind ja immerhin keine normalen Särge (jaja, das macht es auch nicht besser); ihr seht hier die letzte Ruhestätte für die Körper der Habsburger Familie.
